Objectiu de la convocatòria
The Bial Award in Biomedicine seeks to recognise a work published in the broad biomedical field within the last ten years, the results of which are considered of exceptional quality and scientific relevance.
Característiques principals
Nominations are submitted by Scientific Societies, Heads of Medical Schools, Heads of Biomedical Research Institutes, Heads of prestigious Academies, Members of the Jury, Members of the Scientific Board of the BIAL Foundation, and previous winners of the BIAL Award. The Jury may also invite other scientific institutions to submit nominations. Self-nominations are not allowed.

  • Only works nominated by the voting members of the Jury, by the members of the Scientific Board of the BIAL Foundation, by previous BIAL Foundation award winners or by Scientific Societies may be considered candidates for the BIAL AWARD IN BIOMEDICINE 2025. In addition, the Jury may also invite other scientific institutions to submit nominations. For clarity, works nominated in previous editions of the BIAL AWARD IN BIOMEDICINE but not yet awarded may be submitted for nomination for the BIAL AWARD IN BIOMEDICINE 2025, by the same nominator, by the members of the Jury or by other eligible nominators.
  • Work(s) whose author(s) or co-author(s) are employees of the BIAL Foundation or of any company of the BIAL Group are not eligible for consideration as candidates for the BIAL AWARD IN BIOMEDICINE 2025. Self-nominations are also not allowed.
  • Submissions for nominations must be written in English and must be made electronically no later than 11:59 p.m. (GMT) of 30 June of 2025 by filling in the nomination form available at www.bialfoundation.com (no other form will be accepted). All fields of the nomination form must be completed, including, without limitation, the following information and materials:
    a) Nominator’s name(s) and contact details;
    b) A full copy of the work (in file up to a maximum of 35 MB);
    c) A description of the work that facilitates its analysis in the context of this award, including:
    - the work’s main contributions (maximum 500 words); and (ii) the work’s measurable impact (maximum 500 words); and
    - the name of each author or authors of the work, his/her/their institutional affiliation(s) and, if available, telephone and e-mail contacts
