Objectiu de la convocatòria
The ACTERIA Prizes are awarded to recognize and reward Europe's young scientists in the fields of immunology and allergology. The Prizes include individual cash awards plus the potential funding of three-year research projects to be performed in European institutions.
Característiques principals
Two awards are assigned annually on an alternating basis:
  • Two ACTERIA Doctoral Thesis Prizes, one each in immunology and allergology, will be awarded in even-numbered years for the best doctoral theses in the 3 years prior to application submission deadlines.
  • Two ACTERIA Early Career Researcher Prizes, one each in immunology and allergology, will be awarded in odd-numbered years to researchers with up to 10 years of postdoctoral experience.

    Requisits
    These prizes will honor the best doctoral theses defended in topics related to immunology and allergology in European universities/institutions in the last 3 years prior to the application deadline (December 31, 2025). Hence, applicants must haved earned their doctoral degree after January 1, 2023 in order to be considered eligible.
    Dotació
    Award of €30,000, plus the possibility of financing of €50,000/year for three-year research projects to be performed in European institutions.

    Candidates must submit the following documents as either Word or PDF files. The name of the uploaded files will be generated automatically by the system:

  • Curriculum Vitae (2 pages max.) with publications
  • Summary of dissertation including a summary of activity since earning the doctoral degree (3 pages max.)
  • Proof of date of doctoral degree defense
  • Letter of reference from doctoral degree supervisor
  • Proof of Membership in an EFIS-affiliated National Society
  • Proposed research project (3 Pages max.) including: state-of-the-art, questions addressed, research program and methods, expected results, feasibility, potential bottlenecks and solutions, if necessary, timeline, short list of references
  • Letter from the Host Institution where the project will be conducted, including a statement that the safety rules of the organization will be applied
  • Ethics statement (applicable for research using human or animal samples or conducted in humans or animals) confirming that the proposed project will be previously submitted to the appropriate Institutional Review Board/Ethics Committee
