Objectiu de la convocatòria
Within the framework of its Strategic Plan 2025–2028 and its strategy on promoting Advanced Therapies, the Hospital del Mar Research Institute (HMRIB) launches this internal call for the funding of one proof-of-concept project in Cell Therapies.
The purpose of this call is to promote collaboration among research groups within the Institute and to foster the development of the new Cross-Cutting Program in Cell Therapies, supporting the generation of preliminary results that can serve as a basis for future competitive proposals or strategic collaborations.

Projects supported under this call should be at very early stages of development, focused exclusively on Cell Therapies, and aimed at validating a scientific hypothesis and/or building solid collaborations between HMRIB groups in this field.
Requisits
Applications may be submitted by:
  • Research groups belonging to HMRIB, including those officially affiliated to the Institute.
  • Groups from associated partner institutions: UPF, UAB, and BBRC.
    Principal Investigator (PI):
  • Must be an R3 or R4 researcher at HMRIB or one of its associated entities.
  • Must belong to a group recognized within HMRIB’s scientific structure.
  • No co-funding is required.

    Total available funding: €50,000 (from HMRIB structural funds).
    Durada
    Maximum duration: 18 months. Expected start date: January 2026. Expected end date: June 2027.
    Documentació
    Each application must include:
    a) Project summary (maximum 2 pages):
  • Project title.
  • Principal Investigator and participating research groups.
  • Scientific summary and objectives.
  • Description of the hypothesis or concept to be validated.
  • Brief work plan (up to 18 months).
  • Planned internal collaborations.
  • Expected results.
  • Relevance to the HMRIB Cell Therapies Programme.
    b) Detailed budget (maximum 1 page):
  • Breakdown of expected expenses (personnel, consumables, core facility services, etc.)
