Objectiu de la convocatòria
Small Meeting Grants are intended to cover the cost of a running small meeting, either in-person or virtually, in the fields of the Company of Biologists' journals — Development, Journal of Cell Science, Journal of Experimental Biology and DMM (Disease Models & Mechanisms). Small meetings would normally be arranged on a small budget and be a local meeting taking place on one day.

Informació addicional
The call is open all year round. Applicants will generally be informed of the funding decision within four to five weeks following receipt of the application.
Requisits
  • The individual who completes the form must be the organiser of the meeting.
  • Applications from professional fundraisers and conference agencies are generally not considered.
  • Grants cannot be awarded retrospectively.
  • Although there is no nationality restriction, awards cannot be paid to recipients in jurisdictions or regions subject to sanctions, embargoes, or trade restrictions imposed by the United Nations, the EU, or the UK.
  • Funds can only be used to support the meeting specified in the application.
  • Larger meetings with total budgets greater than £1,000 will not be funded.
  • Funds cannot be used to support attendance at scientific meetings, conferences, or training courses.
  • Events or activities outside the journals’ scope are not funded.
  • Administrative, publication, and social expenses are excluded, such as registration fees, prizes, dinners, staff payments, website management, or editorial costs (e.g. abstract books, page charges).
