Objectiu de la convocatòria
The ESC Basic Research Fellowship is designed to allow a researcher to spend one year in a European research laboratory. It is open to basic scientists as well as clinical scientists and preferentially seeks to award support for preclinical research projects.

Requisits
The fellowship is open to candidates of all nationalities.
Candidates must be active in the field of cardiovascular sciences.
Candidates must be members of the Council on Basic Cardiovascular Science.
Candidates should not be older than forty years at the time of the application deadline.
Candidates must move to a host laboratory in Europe different from their current one.
The laboratory and research topic are chosen by the candidate, provided the host institution differs from their current one. Applications to return to a former laboratory are generally not encouraged, except in exceptional circumstances.
Preference will be given to applicants who will use the fellowship to learn novel techniques valuable for their future career.
One fellowship is awarded each year.

Documentació
Motivation letter (maximum two pages) containing date of birth, activity in cardiovascular sciences, project aims and methods, expected results, a budget plan for the award, and a declaration that any unused funds will be returned to the ESC within nine months.
One-page CV including a publication list.
Letter of acceptance from the host institution.
Letter of support from your current institution.
Written commitment to present the fellowship-related work at the next Frontiers in CardioVascular Biomedicine scientific meeting.
Written commitment to submit a report on the research year abroad.
