Objectiu de la convocatòria
As part of the Reimagining Cancer Research in Europe Initiative, UICC and its partners launch a second competitive call for grants to support implementation research on cancer prevention across Europe, aiming to integrate evidence-based interventions into European health systems, foster cross-border collaboration, and reduce the cancer burden in line with the European Beating Cancer Plan and Horizon Europe’s Mission on Cancer.

Research topics:
Implementation science: Supports collaborative efforts across Europe to adapt and adopt evidence-based practices in cancer prevention.
Cancer prevention: Focuses on primary and secondary prevention in areas such as health literacy, tobacco and alcohol control, healthy diets and physical activity, reducing environmental and occupational exposures, infection-related cancer prevention, early detection through screening, and personalised risk assessment.
Priority is given to primary cancer prevention, though secondary prevention proposals are also eligible.

Requisits
Principal Investigators may be of any nationality, age, or career stage, but competitive applicants should have an established publication record in implementation research and cancer prevention.
Project teams must include two to four Principal Investigators from host institutions in more than one EU Member State or eligible non-EU country, with at least one PI based in Denmark, the Netherlands, Sweden, or the United Kingdom.
One PI must be designated as the corresponding Principal Investigator, who will act as the main contact for the application and whose host institution will serve as the main beneficiary and recipient of the grant if selected. Each PI must dedicate sufficient time and presence to the project, including at least 50% of their working time in an eligible country, and projects are expected to start within 12 months of the application deadline.
Each host institution must provide a letter confirming its support for the PI throughout the grant period.
Projects must be implemented within the territory of EU Member States or eligible non-EU countries and focus on implementation research into primary or secondary cancer prevention strategies that align with the objectives of the call.
Applicants must avoid double-funding, and PIs cannot manage another UICC-supported project during the same period.
