Objectiu de la convocatòria
The European Joint Initiative EP PerMed launches its third Joint Transnational Call 2026, aiming to fund multinational research projects in human health on innovative personalised medicine for patients with cardiovascular, metabolic, or kidney diseases, either individually or in combination. The call also encourages interdisciplinary, cross-sectoral collaboration and the active involvement of patients or citizens.

Característiques principals
Proposals should address at least one of the following aspects:
Innovative personalised therapeutic approaches through testing in relevant pre-clinical models.
Molecular markers/signatures or cutting-edge technologies to monitor treatment response and tailor treatment pathways.
Stratifying molecular markers/signatures or diagnostic technologies for early disease risk prediction and prevention of disease worsening or comorbidities.
In addition, proposals are encouraged to combine the following aspects:
Integrate multi-omics and patient data to link biological and clinical information to treatment outcomes.
Use advanced technologies (AI/ML, imaging, digital health) to improve diagnosis, monitor treatment, optimise therapy, and prevent comorbidities.
Consider key factors such as sex/gender, age, environment, lifestyle, and nutrition.
Ensure participatory research with active patient or citizen involvement.
Include a work package on translating research outcomes into clinical practice.

Requisits
Joint proposals may include partners from academia, the clinical/public health sector, and private for-profit and non-profit organisations.
Consortia are strongly encouraged to include partners from multiple categories and to integrate at least one early-career researcher (ECR) as a principal investigator.
Projects must be transnational, with at least three eligible partners from three different EU Member States or Horizon Europe Associated Countries participating in the call.
A consortium can include a maximum of six partners, or seven if a third partner from the same country is included, provided that at least two different agencies from that country are requested for funding.
A consortium can include a maximum of two partners requesting funding from the same funding organisation, and no more than one partner on own funds.
Patient or citizen organisations, either funded or self-financed, can be added as additional partners without affecting the general consortium composition rules, except for the limit on partners funded by the same funding organisation.
Same beneficiary institution cannot participate with more than one partner in the same project proposal.
Double funding of the same concept is not allowed.
PIs must hold a PhD, may participate in only one project proposal per call, and those affiliated with an IIS can apply through their IIS.
PIs involved in an ongoing International Collaboration (PCIN) project of the same initiative ending after 31 December 2026 are not eligible unless they serve as coordinator in either the new or ongoing project.
Each partner is funded by its national or regional funding agency, following its own eligibility and financial rules (see National rules and requirements).
Spanish research groups conducting a clinical trial are strongly encouraged to include a representative from their SCReN or ECRIN-ERIC node in the team.
A pre-eligibility form is mandatory: PIs must send their CVA-ISCIII form by email before the pre-proposal submission deadline to [email protected]
Full proposal applicants selected requesting funding from ISCIII must submit a national application.

Institute of Health Carlos III (ISCIII). A maximum of two different partners requesting funding from ISCIII may participate in the same project proposal.
- Up to €220,000 per project if acting as partner
- Up to €275,000 per project if acting as partner with other partner
- Up to €300,000 per project if if acting as coordinator
- Up to €400,000 per project if acting as coordinator with one partner

- Up to €200,000 per project if acting as partner
- Up to €250,000 per project if if acting as coordinator

Durada
Up to 3 years. For projects requesting funding by ISCIII, at least 2 and up to 3 years.

AVÍS IMPORTANT
The call is launched at the European level, but each partner is funded by its own national agency and must comply with the corresponding national rules. Due to the call’s complexity, applicants are strongly advised to contact the Research Grants and Contracts Office early and to carefully review the call text and guidelines before starting their application.
