Requisits
Candidates pursuing their doctorate at a university or research institution outside Germany, provided that the start of their doctoral studies was no more than three years before the application deadline, are eligible.
Postdoctoral researchers who completed their doctorate within the last four years, provided that the degree was obtained no more than four years before the application deadline, are eligible.
Candidates completing their entire doctorate at a German university are not eligible.
Good German language skills are required; proof of good English language skills may be accepted if English is the working language at the host institute.

Dotació
Monthly scholarship payments of €1,400
Contributions towards health, accident and personal liability insurance
Travel allowance
Research allowance of €460 for funding periods longer than six months
Additional benefits may be available under certain circumstances

Durada
Doctoral students: 2 to 12 months
Postdocs: 2 to 6 months

Full curriculum vitae in tabular form (max. 3 pages).
List of published publications (max. 10 pages; mandatory for postdocs).
Letter of motivation (1-2 pages).
Proposal (max. 10 pages in total).
Time schedule of planned research work.
Proof of admission to doctoral studies/enrolment for in a doctoral programme (for doctoral students).
Confirmation from the academic host in Germany.
Declaration from the scientific supervisor in Germany on safety-relevant and ethical aspects of the research project.
University degree certificates (e.g. Bachelor's, Master's, doctorate) stating your final grades.
All university certificates on all annual examinations with individual grades, including an explanation of the grading system.
One recent letter of recommendation from a university teacher (for doctoral students, from the supervisor of the doctoral thesis).
Proof of German or English language proficiency.
