Objectiu de la convocatòria
The primary aim of this Call is to fund research that advances the design and evaluation of healthcare Interventions in health Promotion and disease prevention.
All proposals, regardless of category, should have a clear and explicit focus on disease prevention or health Promotion. The Interventions designed and/or evaluated in the proposals must be carried out in Spain or Portugal and must directly target peoples’ health.

Three Proposal Categories:
  • Pilot studies: research proposals consisting of small-scale preliminary studies on health Interventions, aimed at evaluating the feasibility and appropriateness of a larger-scale Intervention.
  • Retrospective evaluations: research proposals that evaluate the effectiveness and impact of existing health Interventions using appropriate and validated non-experimental retrospective methods.
  • New Interventions: research proposals that develop and evaluate new health Interventions using appropriate and validated experimental and quasi experimental methods.
    • Requisits
  • The Projects may be carried out as Single or Research Consortium Projects:
    - Single Projects are carried out by a sole Research Performing Organization (RPO) i.e. the Host Institution.
    - Research Consortium Projects are carried out by a Research Consortium.
  • The Projects will be coordinated by the Host Organization. Additionally, both Single Projects and Research Consortium Projects may also include Civil Society Organizations. A maximum of three Civil Society Organizations per proposal are permitted.
  • Both Single and Research Consortium Projects must include a Project Leader (PL). In the case of Research Consortium Projects, the application must also include at least one Partner for each of the Partner Organizations of the Research Consortium.
  • The PL must hold a PhD. Therefore, they must have finished their doctoral degree (PhD) before the opening date of the Call (taking as a reference the date which appears on the doctoral degree).
  • Within the same Call, each PL can only submit a single Proposal as a PL; however, they can collaborate on other proposals as Partner of a Partner Organization of the Research Consortium or as a Team Member.
  • The Project Leader needs the agreement of the Host Organization to be able to submit the proposal. This will be done through an online acceptance by the Organization Manager of the Host Organization

    Pilot studies can request a grant for up to €80,000
    Retrospective evaluations can request a grant for up to €150,000
    Novel interventions can request a grant for up to €300,000
    Durada
    Pilot studies to be executed in a maximum period of 2 years
    Retrospective evaluations to be executed in a maximum of 2 years
    Novel interventions to be executed in a maximum of 3 years
    Documentació
    The proposals must be completed with all the information requested either in the online system.
    The whole process of submission and selection of applications, including the interview, will be carried out in English. All information must be submitted in English.
