Requisits Only one LOI may be submitted from the same applicant. Applicants must be new investigators — within seven years of starting their first independent faculty-level position — holding an independent faculty appointment at a non-profit academic institution. Adjustments for career interruptions can be made. Applicants are eligible if their total active funding is less than $175K per year in direct costs, with KO8, R00, and R99 grants excluded from this limit; smaller grants (e.g. DOE, DOD, NSF, R21) are allowed. There are no citizenship requirements.
