Objectiu de la convocatòria
This award supports pilot studies that carry out hypothesis-driven mechanistic analyses to understand the underlying effects of lifestyle factors on lupus.
Característiques principals
Research projects should focus on testing lifestyle interventions that have the potential to improve the well-being of those living with lupus.
Areas of focus for interventions may include physical activity and exercise, diet and nutrition, mental health, mindfulness practices, harmful exposure prevention, sleep, and social relation-based interventions.
The primary outcome of these studies must be mechanistic; studies whose primary outcome is efficacy will not be considered. All mechanistic analyses must be designed to identify hypothesis-driven molecular, cellular, or physiologic changes.

Applications must be submitted electronically through the LRA Grants Management System by 11:59 PM US Eastern Time on the stated deadline.
Requisits
  • Applicants must have a doctoral degree (MD, PhD, DO, or equivalent) and hold a faculty or equivalent position, leading an independent research team at an academic, nonprofit, or government research institution.
  • There are no citizenship requirements.
  • Partnerships and cost sharing agreements with for-profit organizations are allowed and encouraged.
  • Projects with significant overlap with currently active LRA-funded grants will not be considered.
  • Only one application per applicant will be accepted.
