Objectiu de la convocatòria
This award supports postdoctoral or clinical research fellows in conducting cancer disparities research and in establishing a successful career in this field. Proposed projects should specifically address disparities in oncology care for bladder cancer and address barriers that contribute to inequality in cancer care, both within institutions and in society at large.
Característiques principals
Preference will be given to proposals that implement strategies or interventions to address one or more of the following areas:
  • Awareness – increasing awareness in medical and patient communities of racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic disparities in lung and urothelial cancer care and their impact.
  • Access to care – reducing delays in diagnosis and treatment, addressing community and societal factors affecting access, and engaging stakeholders to develop culturally appropriate solutions.
  • Outcomes – targeting disparities in care at patient, community, team, and hospital levels to improve patient outcomes.

    Requisits
  • Applicants must have a doctoral degree (PhD, MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent) in a related field and not currently be a candidate for a further doctoral degree.

  • Applicants must hold a mentored research position with the title of postdoctoral fellow, clinical research fellow, or equivalent.
    - If eligibility is based on a future position, it must be confirmed at the time of application and cannot be contingent upon receiving this grant.
    - If the future position is at a different institution, applicants must contact the AACR's Research and Grants Administration Department at [email protected] prior to submitting the application.
  • Applicants must have completed their most recent doctoral degree within the past five years. For applicants with a medical degree, eligibility is based on the date of their most recent doctoral degree or the completion of their medical residency—whichever occurred later—, also within the past five years.
  • Applicants must work under the auspices of a mentor at an academic, medical, or research institution anywhere in the world.
  • There are no citizenship or geographic requirements.
  • Applicants must be AACR Active members. Nonmembers must apply before the LOI deadline and secure an Active member as a nominator.
