Grants from the Fund for Innovations in Sustainable Conferencing are available to support innovative ideas that enable biologists to collaborate proactively whilst minimising their impact on the environment.

Característiques principals
There are several types of grants:
Measures to reduce the carbon footprint of travel (e.g., virtual presentations to avoid flights, encouraging low-carbon transport for non-local speakers)
Additional cost of technology (e.g., rental of virtual platforms or equipment, technology support, innovative uses of existing technologies)
Innovative features (e.g., apps enhancing virtual attendee experience at hybrid events; should be open source if possible; virtual abstract books or digital agendas alone are not eligible)
Other sustainability measures (e.g., any other actions improving sustainability not covered above; innovative ideas are encouraged)

Application deadlines in 2026 are as follows:
6 March 2026 (decision w/c 11 May 2026)
15 May 2026 (decision w/c 6 July 2026)
31 July 2026 (decision w/c 5 October 2026)
6 November 2026 (decision January 2027, date TBC)

Requisits
Organisers of conferences, workshops, seminars, training, and networking events can apply.
Funding will generally be limited to one grant per series.
The individual who completes the form must be a member of the organising group for the event.
Grants cannot be awarded retrospectively.
Although there is no nationality restriction, awards cannot be paid to recipients in jurisdictions or regions subject to sanctions, embargoes, or trade restrictions imposed by the United Nations, the EU, or the UK.
