Objectiu de la convocatòria
The EMBO Scientific Exchange Grants fund research exchanges of up to three months between laboratories in eligible countries. The grants facilitate collaborations with research groups with expertise techniques or infrastructure that is unavailable in the applicant's laboratory.

Requisits
  • Applicants must be active researchers at any career stage, with at least one year of graduate research experience or equivalent at the time of application.
  • Eligible applicants are those working at an institute/university in an EMBC Member State, EMBC/EMBO global partner, or funded by Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) programmes.
  • These grants are awarded for research exchanges between laboratories in EMBC Member States and EMBC/EMBO global partners (Chile, India, Singapore, Taiwan). Grants are not awarded for exchanges between two laboratories within the same country. Exceptional cases may be considered for visits outside these countries.
  • Previous holders of an EMBO Scientific Exchange Grant or Postdoctoral Fellowship may re-apply if it is for a new project in a different laboratory.
  • Applications for the exclusive purpose of training in a technique will be considered if relevant to the home laboratory's research.
  • Applications to extend visits funded by other programs, or to attend courses, workshops, or symposia, will not be considered.
  • Applications to work with former colleagues, PhD or postdoc supervisors, or in previously visited laboratories will not be considered.
  • Applications to visit laboratories in the context of an already existing collaboration (also considering joint grants and/or co-publications) or involving previous exchanges of scientists will not be considered.
  • After completing their visit, fellows must return to their home laboratory for a minimum of six consecutive months.
  • Fellows may extend their research visit by up to three additional months. However, EMBO will not provide funding for this extended period and the grant must be used for the first three months of the visit.

    AVÍS IMPORTANT
    There is no deadline for applications. applications must be submitted at least 30 days before the start of the research visit, and it is recommended to apply at least three months in advance of the proposed start date.
