Objectiu de la convocatòria
To promote the development of excellent scientific research into aetiological, pathogenic, pathophysiological, clinical, therapeutic, epidemiological, prevention, public health and healthcare services aspects of cancer, as the core element of the projects.
Característiques principals
The coordinating principal investigator is understood to be the person who leads the project, will act as the liaison with La Fundació, and will be responsible for presenting and coordinating the overall execution of the project.
The principal investigator is understood to be the person who leads a subproject.
A member of the research team is understood to be any participant in a subproject who carries out specific activities directly related to the sub-project. These individuals may or may not receive financial remuneration, and/or may be affiliated with a research centre different from that of the principal investigator.

Requisits
The principal investigators responsible for the scientific and technical execution of the research projects to which these conditions refer, the coordinating principal investigator must hold a PhD and demonstrate an excellent research track record with:
- 2 publications as first author, last author or corresponding author (in the field of cancer), in first-quartile (Q1) journals, during the last 5 years (including the year of publication and the year of the most recent publication).
or
- 5 publications (in the field of cancer) in first quartile (Q1) journals, during the last 5 years. ** (including the year of publication and also the year of the most recent publication)
The research groups of the projects cannot be from the same centre.
The coordinating principal investigator or the subproject investigators must remain actively employed throughout the duration of the project.
All principal investigators of subprojects must have a PhD degree

The coordinating principal investigator and the principal investigators of each sub-project of the projects must have the following at the time of submission:
a) Report from the Research Commission
b) Report from the Clinical Research Ethics Committee of the CEIC centre
At the time of application, the principal investigators must have a pending evaluation letter, with the centre's commitment that the project has been submitted to the CEIC for evaluation.
If it is not required, due to the type of research or the nature of the projects, this must be justified by a document signed by the centre.
c) Report from the centre's Animal Experimentation Committee.
At the time of application, the principal investigators must have a pending evaluation letter, with the centre's commitment that the project has been submitted to the Animal Experiments Committee for its evaluation.
If it is not necessary due to the nature of the projects research, this must be justified by a document signed by the centre.
Dotació
The amount of financial assistance shall not exceed €300,000 for projects involving two groups, and if three or more groups participate, the maximum amount to be funded shall be €400,000.
Under no circumstances may individual participating teams request more than €200,000.
The salary tables of the Institution must be followed
The item for publications must not exceed a total amount of €6,000 for each subproject.

  • The projects must set out clearly and specifically what is the expected social scientific and financial return. There must also be reasoned description of the impact of the project on people’s health, as well as the communication and dissemination plan for achieving them
  • The proposals must include an informative summary of the goals of the research and of the expected impact of the project that is understandable to the general public of the goals of the research and of the expected impact of the project.
  • The projects must include the gender perspective transversally throughout all the stages of the research.
  • The application of the scientific party to take part in the call must be presented in English with a summary in Catalan.
    In the online application all the necessary documents must be attached, in PDF format.
  • They must be presented with digital signature before the deadline of the call.

    • Incompatibilitats
    Investigators may only participate in this call as:
    • IP 1 PROJECT: A researcher may apply as principal investigator on only one project or sub-project.
    • IP 1 PROJECT + RESEARCH TEAM MEMBER: A researcher may apply as principal investigator on one project or subproject, and also as a member of the research team of another project or subproject.
    • RESEARCH TEAM MEMBER IN ONE OR TWO PROJECTS: A researcher may be part of one or two research teams for projects or subprojects.
    AVÍS IMPORTANT
    Should the results derived from the project's research be published by the principal investigators and/or the centres, they undertake to publish them in Open Access format as well.
