Objectiu de la convocatòria
The YI Grant provides funding to enable promising investigators to either extend research fellowship training or begin careers as independent research faculty in psychiatric brain and behavior disorder research. The goal is to help early-career researchers establish themselves in neuroscience and psychiatry and generate pilot data to support applications for larger federal and university grants.
Característiques principals
The program aims to facilitate innovative research and supports basic, translational, and clinical investigators studying serious psychiatric disorders, including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, mood and anxiety disorders, and early-onset brain and behavior disorders. Supported research includes neurobiological, psychobiological, and clinical studies, including qualitative research and projects generating preliminary data to explore new hypotheses.

Disorders such as autism, Alzheimer's disease, and Parkinson's disease are supported only when primary psychiatric disorders are included in the research design. Transdiagnostic approaches involving multiple disorders are encouraged.
