Objectiu de la convocatòria
This call supports projects from multidisciplinary groups focused on the discovery and development of novel fluid- or tissue-based biomarkers for disease progression and stratification, using innovative and complementary approaches, including applications of AI and machine learning (ML).
Característiques principals
All groups studying disease progression biomarkers are eligible to apply, with particular interest in projects focusing on:
  • Novel biomarkers predictive of disease progression or phenoconversion
  • Biomarkers with utility as treatment response
  • Biomarkers for patient population stratification (e.g., fast vs slow progressors, cognitive impairment, peripheral immunity)
  • Novel analytical approaches to blood-based biomarkers, including AI/ML-extracted signatures

    This call follows a two-stage procedure.
    Requisits
  • Applications should be from groups of 3–5 laboratories focused on a common theme or target.
  • All investigators must provide a data/IP sharing agreement between their institutions, or a letter confirming Technology Transfer Offices are aware of the project.
  • Investigators must be independent faculty members or industry equivalents; research assistants, postdocs, and staff are not eligible.
  • Investigators must contribute more than just access to samples or patients; they should provide complementary methods, techniques, and responsibilities.
  • Each investigator may participate in only one proposal.
  • Investigators with two or more active Target ALS grants are not eligible to apply.
